Veronica Salazar

Veronica Salazar is a dedicated medical assistant with a passion for community health. A graduate of Northbrook High School in Spring Branch, Texas, she pursued additional training at a skills school to specialize as a medical assistant.

Veronica began her career at MacGregor Medical in Katy, TX, where she gained valuable experience both in Family practice and Pediatrics. Her journey continued in the Ob/Gyn field under the mentorship of Dr. Bahjat Ramen, who not only provided exceptional guidance but also fostered a love for teaching among his staff.

In 2008, Veronica and her family relocated to Cleveland, Texas, seeking opportunities to make a meaningful impact in a more rural community. The following year, she found a home at the Health Center of Southeast Texas, where she has embraced the mission of providing comprehensive healthcare to underserved populations for the past 15 years.

In 2024, Veronica transitioned to lead the Behavioral Health Department full-time, where she is expanding her knowledge of mental health under the guidance of Dr. Ricardo Escobar, the psychiatrist for HCSET. With a commitment to excellence and a genuine desire to improve the lives of those in her care, Veronica continues to make a difference every day in the field of healthcare
