ai vendor disclosure framework
The AI Vendor Disclosure Framework is a community-informed tool designed to help healthcare delivery organizations (HDOs) evaluate AI systems comprehensively and responsibly. The framework was developed through collaboration with multidisciplinary experts from the HAIP Corps Network. The framework provides structured guidance across five critical assessment domains:
- System Capabilities and Intended Use establishes foundational knowledge about the AI system’s functionalities, use, and affected stakeholders.
- System Performance and Compliance establishes the AI system’s operational metrics, potential biases, associated risks, and regulatory standing.
- Data Stewardship outlines the approach to data governance, including security measures, quality assurance processes, secondary use, and retention policies.
- Integration Requirements evaluate the total cost of ownership, including technical prerequisites, resource requirements, and implementation timelines.
- Lifecycle Management defines vendor responsibilities for ongoing support, monitoring, and maintenance after implementation.
This framework is designed for vendor engagement teams at HDOs and AI vendors, supporting procurement, evaluation, and implementation by surfacing critical information for safe, effective, and ethical adoption of AI systems.
By establishing shared expectations between vendors and HDO teams, the framework promotes clear accountability, evidence-based procurement decisions, and proactive risk mitigation through transparent documentation of system capabilities, limitations, and safety measures.
