Michael J. Sheppard is the Data Foundations Director with Michigan Medicine, where he supports the academic medical center’s tripartite mission of research, education, and patient care.  He is also the Co-Chair of the Michigan Medicine Clinical Intelligence Committee.  The Clinical Intelligence Committee’s mission is to provide a framework for responsible use of health AI tools through governance, evaluation, consultation, and education, with goals of implementing safe AI practice, encouraging user trust, and improving quality of care.

Michael received a Masters of Science from Eastern Michigan University.  He has over 25 years of leadership experience in Information Technology.  His areas of expertise include enterprise system architecture, data management, analytics, governance, and data science.
