inaugural practice network
The inaugural Practice Network program was designed to explore how structured technical assistance and peer learning could help safety-net healthcare delivery organizations (HDOs) move from interest in AI adoption to responsible implementation.
The program brought together participating HDOs with HAIP mentors and subject matter experts to provide hands-on support across AI use cases, implementation planning, governance, and organizational readiness.
Rather than treating AI adoption as a one-time technology decision, the program focused on developing the organizational capabilities, processes, and knowledge needed to implement AI responsibly.
What the inaugural program focused on
Hands-on technical assistance
Organizations received tailored support as they evaluated and implemented AI use cases.
Implementation and governance
Participants worked through the practical questions involved in introducing AI into healthcare workflows, including governance, safety, and organizational readiness.
Peer learning
Participating organizations shared experiences and challenges, creating opportunities to learn from implementation in different safety-net settings.
Capacity building
The program emphasized skills, processes, and resources that organizations could continue using beyond the program.
From pilot to scale
The inaugural program generated lessons about how AI technical assistance can be delivered across multiple safety-net organizations and how trusted networks can play a role in extending access to AI expertise.
