Ashley Beecy

Dr. Beecy is currently the Medical Director of Artificial Intelligence (AI) Operations at New York Presbyterian, where she is responsible for the governance, evaluation and implementation of clinical AI models. She is also an Assistant Professor of Medicine in the Department of Medicine, Division of Cardiology at Weill Cornell Medicine. Her research focus is in digital health, including the safe and effective use of AI in healthcare.  

Dr. Beecy holds a medical degree from Albert Einstein College of Medicine. She completed her Internal Medicine residency at New York Presbyterian/Weill Cornell Medicine and then pursued a clinical research fellowship in AI at the Dalio Institute for Cardiovascular Imaging. She completed her fellowship training in Cardiovascular Diseases at New York Presbyterian/Weill Cornell Medicine, where she served as Chief Cardiology Fellow.   

Prior to a career in medicine, Dr. Beecy spent 10 years working in industry. As an electrical engineer at IBM, she was responsible for the physical design of chip level architectures. As a Vice President in Operational Risk Management at Citi, she led the planning, incubation, and development of significant global digital initiatives, including the build of one of the largest corporate applications used to mitigate operational risk, resulting in several successful regulatory reviews. She has also consulted for multiple digital health start-up companies to develop strategy and improve operations.
